Clara Wainwright is a quilt maker and public celebration artist. For 20 years she has worked with community groups in the Boston area on more than 50 collaborative quilts which explore their histories, faiths, and aspirations. These quilts hang in churches, neighborhood centers, schools, and hospitals all over the Greater Boston area. She is the founder of The Great Boston Kite Festival (1969-2005) and First Night.
