Vicki LaRiccia
Vicki LaRiccia is a special educator at Brookline Public Schools. She is currently working with a student diagnosed with autism. She taught her student how to play the recorder and the clarinet with perserverance and stategic accomodations. Her student has been playing the clarinet at grade-level for over two years and performs in the school's yearly concerts. Vicki has helped other children on the spectrum use these strategies to aide in their music instruction, with guitar, cello and piano. Prior to this, she taught at The May Institute, a private school which services children with autism. There she was extensively trained in ABA (applied behavioral analysis) and PMT (physical management training) as well as a great deal of patience. Vicki is currently working towards her Master's degree in Special Education at Cambridge College and will continue on to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. She plays guitar, bass guitar, piano/keyboard and sings at beginner to intermediate levels and uses these skills in her band. She is delighted to be a part of the consultant team at AHEF. Teaching children with autism and music are her two passions in life.
